This is MathIntee Political Post, a newsletter about elections, voting systems, politics, et cetera.
So hi. I’m Tomas McIntee. I recently wrote a book on the Electoral College (click here to find it in online stores). I’m a mathematician and social scientist with a doctorate from UC-Irvine and several lower-level degrees from Appalachian State University (master’s in math, bachelors’ in physics, math, philosophy & religion). I’m fueled by coffee and curiosity.
It happens that I often think about things with a bearing on politics and electoral systems. My dissertation was on the mathematics of voting, and I have published peer-reviewed papers on the topic. I’ve been working on a book on the Electoral College, and for the last several years, I’ve been posting articles about voting systems, elections, and other topics with a relationship to politics.
Subscribe to get my new articles directly in your inbox. You can also subscribe to me on Medium, as my new articles go up on Medium as well. Some of those articles are on the Electoral College and can be seen under the Electoral University Press publication, and there’s a series of basic articles on voting theory in the Basic Voting Theory publication. For a scattering of less detailed opinions, follow me on Twitter. For more thoughts on other topics with a scattering of different topics, subscribe to my other Substack list, Tomas’s Miscellany.
